A Diamond cut only to be stoned.
Winter comes, summer goes,
the Diamond is left to lose its value all alone.
The Bitterness and freezing cement formed into concrete
slowly dull at the wrath of man’s feet
all of the brutality this Diamond’s been forced to meet.
As its dullness wings here comes spring’s
beautiful rose that formed with the Diamond in concrete
The rose’s leaves lift the dullen Diamond up
and in Misery’s own story the Diamond now shines like the sun –
despite all of the rust from winter’s months
but it can only be seen by the few of us.
